Background
Wuxi Lucun WWTP is constructed in three phases based on A2O process with a total scale of 200,000 m3/d. The design effluent implements I-A standard after retrofitting in 2008.Implementation Idea
The original process was incorporated with MBBR to improve the treatment capacity. The anoxic area was expanded to meet the prior requirement of denitrification capacity by transforming part of oxic aera into anoxic aera. The loss of nitrification capacity due to the decreasing of oxic volume is supplemented by adding suspension carriers.
Highlight
The first batch of MBBR process applied to the high-emission standards retrofitting of large-scale WWTPs, it has shown stable disposal effect since 2008.
