SPRING participated in the 9^th Urban Rain and Sewage Management Advanced Seminar of China Water & Wastewater

The 9th Urban Rain and Sewage Management Advanced Seminar of China Water & Wastewater, co-sponsored by China Water & Wastewater Magazine Co., Ltd.,  Environmental and Municipal Engineering Institute of Qingdao University of Technology, Shanghai Urban Rainfall Management Engineering Technology Research Center and North China Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd was held at Huanghai Hotel in Qingdao from May 8 to 10, 2019. Qingdao SPRING Water Treatment Co., Ltd. participated as a co-sponsor.

With the theme of "comprehensive renovation of sponge city, wisdom water and water environment" and the exchange purpose of "ecology, livability, science and wisdom", the symposium gathered experts, scholars and managers in the field of urban water affairs at home and abroad to build a platform for international academic exchanges and technical seminars, focusing on displaying the specialty of urban water management. Modern concepts, planning and design experience and latest technology in the field, sharing successful experience of wisdom water, displaying successful cases of sponge city construction and water environment comprehensive renovation, and discussing topics of common concern.

Xin Tao, deputy director of market of Qingdao SPRING Water Treatment Co., Ltd., introduced the origin, development and application of MBBR process with the theme of "Application of MBBR process in domestic sewage treatment under different conditions".

MBBR process originated in Norway in 1990s. In 2008, Wuxi Lucun Sewage Treatment Plant was successfully implemented as the first large municipal wastewater treatment plant to apply MBBR process in China. With the benefits of embedded application, high efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorus removal, and low operating cost, MBBR process has shown good advantages in upgrading domestic standards and expanding capacity.

The application of MBBR process in China can be divided into three stages:

①At the beginning, it focused on the solution of carrier products and hydraulic problems, and fluidization in engineering.

②The second stage is mature engineering application, reasonable process design and stable operation control.

③Process optimization has been achieved in recent years, focusing on meeting the requirement of high emission standards and low energy consumption.

In order to standardize the market of suspended fillers, SPRING was invited to participate in the compilation of "High Density Polyethylene Suspension Carrier Filler for Water Treatment" (CJ/T461-2014) in 2014.

SPRING focuses on the R&D and promotion of MBBR process. Up to May 2019, SPRING has applied MBBR process to implement nearly 8 million tons per day of project performance, including new construction, upgrading&retrofitting, point source treatment of rural sewage and river water environment restoration in 26 provinces and municipalities in China. SPRING has developed and completed the MBBR process route with effluent stably reaching the Class-IV surface water standard, which has been successfully applied in many sewage treatment plants.

The development of SPRING is inseparable from the promotion of MBBR in China. SPRING always insists on the promotion and protection of MBBR process technology. On the basis of adherence to the original process technology and combined with the actual situation of each sewage treatment plant, SPRING continuously innovates and develops new technologies, and devotes itself to promoting MBBR process technology, which has a broader and deeper application space in China.
