On August 30, 2019, participants visited Ningbo Xinzhou wastewater treatment plant at the third bid raising and Reconstruction Conference held by China Water & Wastewater magazine.

    Ningbo Xinzhou wastewater treatment plant, with a construction scale of 160000m3 / d, is located in the plot about 300m to the south of Jiangnan highway in Beilun district and the west of RaoCheng expressway (Xinzhou Interchange). The main services of Xinzhou Plant include Sanjiang and Beilun, including Sanjiang district, among them, Sanjiang district includes High-tech Zone, Eastern New Town, Yinzhou central city and Dongqian Lake. Beilun district includes Jiangnan and Xiaogang to the west of Longshan, with a total service area of about 300km2. After this upgrading, the effluent quality reached the emission limit of the "Pollutant discharge standards for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants (GB18918)" (new revision, draft for comments).

Xinzhou Wastewater Treatment Plant is the first S-IV upgraded wastewater treatment plant in Ningbo, and also is the first wastewater treatment plant in Zhejiang to adopt MBBR forS-IV standard upgrading. The implementation of Bardenpho-MBBR effectively guaranteed the TN of the system, and the TN in the biological pool can be stable lower than 10mg / L. compared with that before reconstruction, TN in the biological tank can be removed more than 6-8mg / L.
